Dermatology

Riverside Medical Clinic’s dermatology department is here to protect your skin. It’s the body’s largest organ and, like your other main organs, it can develop an array of health issues. In addition to normal “wear and tear” over time, there’s also bacteria, disease and other problems from rashes to eczema, acne, wrinkles and scarring that can wreak havoc. When that happens, it may be time to see our dermatologists. We can recommend skin care to restore your skin to a healthy appearance.
Sun Safety

Here in sunny Southern California, our skin is constantly exposed to ultraviolet radiation from the sun. This can cause problems from premature aging to skin cancer. One of every three cancers diagnosed in the U.S. is skin cancer. The good news is that the most common types of skin cancer have a cure rate of more than 95 percent if treated early. Even better: Most skin cancer can be prevented, simply by protecting your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. Remember that it only takes one sunburn to increase your risk of developing skin cancer.
Our best skin tips

  • Avoid overexposure to the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when rays are the strongest
  • Wear a hat and sun-protective clothing if you’re going to be exposed to prolonged sunlight
  • Use sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or higher
  • Remember that UV ray can travel through clouds and car windows
